For Huxley’s two state formulation, after setting up             as the attached state and              as the detached state and including the above constraint equation, the state transition matrix becomes:

 

Similarly the three-state model, after setting              as the detached state (M.ADP.Pi),             as the attached pre-stroke state (A·M·ADP·Pi), and           as the post stroke state (A·M·ADP) it becomes:

 

 

The models with larger number of states can be described in the same fashion, but key differences are in descriptions on state transition rates that in most cases depend on the bond strain.
